The National Wedding Fayre is expecting record numbers when it comes to Coventry as thousands of couples prepare for their big day next year.
More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event at Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20.
It’s the eighth year that the show has been held at the Arena and it comes as couples finally get to plan and enjoy their perfect wedding after delays caused by the pandemic.
The event will attract over 125 exhibitors from across the wedding planning industry, with exhibitors present ranging from bridal experts, suit specialists and people to support with planning a honeymoon abroad.
It will also see industry expert guests speakers to support couples planning their wedding with guidance on topics such as how to create invitations and how to choose the right gown.
The National Wedding Fayre was first held at Coventry Building Society Arena in 2013 and has more than doubled in size since its debut.
Event organiser Wayne Littlewood, from Coventry, is the mastermind behind the show and also runs a series of smaller shows around Warwickshire and the West Midlands throughout the year.
He says that attendances at the smaller shows have hit record levels and that couples are actually looking to spend more now on weddings than before the pandemic.
“Our smaller shows have been a huge success in recent months and we have actually seen attendance numbers more than double our normal level,” said Wayne Littlewood.
“This could be in part down to there being more weddings than ever before currently, as we continue to work through the backlog caused by the pandemic.
“There has definitely been a change in spending patterns too and we are actually seeing that budgets have increased. This means we are seeing couples looking for more extravagant things for their special day, be that a horse and cart, a dove release or really pushing the boundaries on their venue.
“For our industry, the National Wedding Fayre will be a great opportunity to bring us all together after two years away from a big wedding show. It’s been a really difficult period for everyone involved in the industry and this is a chance to celebrate how strongly the sector is bouncing back.
“To be back at Coventry Building Society Arena is fantastic for us. It’s a venue we are proud to call home and one we hope to continue to expand our show at over the coming years.”
Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, added: “The Arena has been with the show all the way over the last nine years as it has expanded and we are pleased that the National Wedding Fayre will be back with us in 2022.
“Our flexible, state-of-the-art facilities and ideal location makes Coventry Building Society Arena the ideal venue for this kind of show and we have developed expertise in delivering shows of this type – with great results for organisers, exhibitors and visitors.”
