Role Description: The role has the responsibility to ensure that all sales ledger transactions are processed in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring cash collection is up to date and to be responsible to chase where debts are overdue. To deal with customer enquiries in an efficient and sensitive manner.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the management of all subsidiary sales ledgers, being the main point of contact for the Head of Transactional Finance for all sales ledger queries.

  • Reviewing contracts to ensure that the correct invoices are being raised

  • Processing of sales invoices and debit notes

  • Responsible for credit control across the Group

  • Matching sales invoices with cash receipts

  • Creation and maintenance of customer master records

  • Perform customer account reconciliations

  • Proactive communication with department heads responsible for sales, prompting those

    around the business to ensure all invoices are raised.

  • Continuous review of processes, making suggestions for improvement to ensure the

    function runs as efficiently as possible.

  • Respond to both internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Ad-hoc help as and when required on the purchase ledger

  • Any general ad-hoc admin duties

Required skills and experience:


  • Well organised and able to prioritise actions whilst maintaining an attention to detail and accuracy in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent written communications with internal team members and customers/suppliers

  • Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Must demonstrate a professional approach which generates credibility and confidence.

  • Must be able to overcome obstacles to solve problems to achieve results

  • Can do attitude, with flexibility to change in a dynamic environment


  • Previous working experience of a sales ledger administration role

  • Highly organised and strong attention to detail skills

  • Strong team player

  • Experience of managing ledgers and keeping data up to date

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Computer literate with strong Excel skills

  • Excellent work attitude

  • Good telephone manner
